With over 20 years in EMS and a decade as a volunteer firefighter in Addison County, Rothwell has built her career around public safety. She first joined MREMS in 2013 as a paramedic and quickly rose through the ranks, serving as Training Officer and later Deputy Director. In 2019 she was appointed Executive Director, guiding the agency through a period of significant growth. Under her leadership, MREMS has become a strong, multi-dimensional nonprofit, recognized in 2022 as Vermont Ambulance Service of the Year by Vermont EMS.

Deputy Director
Paramedic

Randall, originally from Waitsfield, Vermont, found his passion for EMS in 2016 with Mad River Valley Ambulance. He went on to earn a degree in Emergency Medical Services Management from Springfield College and became a Nationally Registered Paramedic. Joining MREMS in 2021, he has worked to strengthen training, clinical care, and community partnerships. He also serves as a Disaster Medical Specialist with Vermont’s Urban Search and Rescue Team, VT-TF1.

Abare, a native of Addison, Vermont, has nearly two decades of experience in EMS and public safety. He joined MREMS in 2013, serving as an A-EMT and dispatcher in both the EMS and Communications Divisions. Known for his steady leadership and deep local knowledge, he was promoted in 2024 to Director of Communications. In this role he oversees MREMS’s dispatch and communications operations, ensuring reliable, coordinated response across the region..
